Energy efficiency support for SMEs and businesses
The €39.6 million line of aid for self-consumption of electricity is open until 31 December 2023. Companies, self-employed and other entities with economic activity (including local energy communities) can benefit. Eligible activities mean solar and wind energy with/without storage and storage projects in existing self-consumption facilities. The amount of aid varies depending on the type of company, technology and power of the installation, with a power limit of up to 5 MW for its concession.
The good reception of this line of aid has led the Xunta to extend its call for applications, doubling the initial budget. Funds are available in all programmes, especially in wind power and storage.
The other line of aid open is for thermal renewable energies, from which companies, the self-employed and other entities with economic activity can benefit. Eligible actions include renewable thermal energy installations in the industrial, agricultural, service and other sectors of the economy, including the residential sector. Technologies such as aerothermal, geothermal, hydrothermal, biomass and solar are subsidised.
The amount of the aid varies according to the type of company - it can range from 35-40-45%, plus an additional 5% if they are Demographic Challenge municipalities - and the technology. The grants can be applied for until 31 December 2023 and are initially allocated 6.11 million euros.
In addition, there is a line of aid for energy efficiency in the industrial sector for SMEs and large companies. They can apply for subsidies for actions to improve technology in industrial equipment and processes and the implementation of energy management systems. They can be applied for until June 2023 and have a budget of €30.7 million.
SMEs and large companies can apply for aid for energy efficiency in the industrial and services sector, to which the Xunta has allocated €5 million. Eligible actions are savings and efficiency projects in the industrial or services sector. This line of aid is open until 3 October this year.
Natural and legal persons in the agricultural sector have €1.6 million available for energy efficiency grants. They can subsidise actions related to projects to improve the energy efficiency of their farms up to a maximum of 30% of eligible investment and €1 million/project. The offer is open until 31 December 2023.
The MOVES III programme allocates €18.3 million for individuals, the self-employed, non-profit organisations, the public sector, homeowners' associations and companies managed through partner organisations. They subsidise electric vehicles, - between 700 and 9,900 euros per vehicle depending on the characteristics of the vehicle and type of beneficiary -, and recharging points, between 30-80% of the eligible cost depending on the type of beneficiary and location. Applications can be submitted until 31 December 2023.
