There are now 8 Galician jewellery companies with the prestigious certification, a guarantee of quality, trust and added value

The inclusion of Galician jewellery in the Galicia Calidade brand was made possible thanks to an agreement signed in 2011 between the Xunta de Galicia and the Official Association of Galician Jewellery (Coxga) so that jewellery made by Galician professionals who pass the required controls can incorporate this brand as a guarantee of quality.

The president of Coxga, Óscar Rodríguez, explains that "Galicia Calidade is a certified seal of quality assurance. This quality assurance from a well-known, consolidated and prestigious brand generates consumer confidence, which is an added value for these companies that allows them to differentiate themselves from the competition, not only in Galicia and Spain, but also on the international stage".

In addition, Galicia Calidade supports the companies under its seal in promotions, advertising campaigns and events, and this publicity benefits the already well-known prestige of Galician jewellery. “And, of course, for the companies, this seal is a recognition of the effort and eagerness to improve of the Galician jewellery professionals", affirms the president of Coxga.

In this way, all Galician manufacturers have a framework of general compliance to be able to integrate their jewellery within Galicia Calidade and take advantage of the momentum of a well-known, consolidated and prestigious brand that conveys the perception of a quality Galician product to consumers.

The Official Association of Galician Jewellery (Coxga) has a commission responsible for assessing compliance with the technical requirements of the specifications of the agreement, and, in order to obtain the seal, the company (manufacturer) must present to this commission the piece or collection of pieces for which it intends to obtain the certificate.

Among the requirements for jewellery made by Galician professionals to obtain the Galicia Calidade seal are: design and manufacture in Galicia; a production centre located in Galicia and managed by a registered professional; raw materials: the metal grade may not be less than 950 thousandths for platinum, 750 thousandths for gold and 925 thousandths for silver; impeccable finish of the jewellery - casting without imperfections, no visible welding, polishing and quality finish on all sides, including internal or non-visible ones; cases and packaging appropriate to the quality of the jewellery and which protect the contents from external agents that could damage the jewellery; manufacturer's logo, signature or mark visible on cases, labelling and packaging; manufacturer's contrast and guarantee contrast (from the Precious Metals Contrast Laboratory); a label with detailed information on the piece and collection: manufacture, certificate of composition, identification, with date of manufacture and photo; minimum three-year guarantee and after-sales service with a response time of 15 days maximum.
