Igape (Galician Institute of Economic Promotion) provides continuous support for SMEs and self-employed people
Igape Responde is an immediate action programme designed to advise and train SMEs and self-employed and entrepreneurial individuals in Galicia. It was created during the pandemic to help them continue operating. Igape Responde hones its free advice services to boost the economic activity of SMEs, self-employed people and entrepreneurs. The goal is to help businesses face new challenges emerging from the current economic context.
The programme has two lines of action. The first is through the quick query system, which responds to real-time queries on business management. Queries can be made regarding the impact of the current context, which is marked by inflation, the company's economic situation or business activity, the provision of products and services online and the production of the company, the workforce, the start-up of a new business, investment aid starting from 500,000 euros for the establishment of companies in Galicia, and more.
The second line of action is the online consultation feature in which a consultant accompanies you in the implementation of the chosen measure. Igape offers up to 25 hours of advice, for approximately 6 weeks, in 7 areas focused on the implementation of measures to adapt to the economic situation. Consultations can be made on the current context, the economic situation of the business and its activity, operations, people, entrepreneurship and investment aid.
In the first phase of the programme, from July 2020 to July 2021, more than 1,200 users were attended to, resulting in more than 1,700 expert support measures and 340 immediate action measures. In the second phase, which has been ongoing since July 2022, almost 500 new requests were met and 69 new immediate action measures were implemented.
ReAcciona
ReAcciona is a joint programme of the Xunta de Galicia (Regional Government of Galicia), through Igape, Amtega and Gain to boost the competitiveness of SMEs and the Galician industry. It comprises a scheme of services to improve business competitiveness, designed to enable SMEs to face new market challenges, providing them with added value to accelerate their improvement processes and incorporate new knowledge into their structures. The programme, which has evolved over the years, has a total of 15 services around four areas of competitiveness: strategy, professionalism, digitalisation and innovation.
The implementation of a ReAcciona service implies the involvement of the company in the development of the improvement project, which guarantees the success of the results. Igape, Amtega and Gain provide financial support by subsidising a large part of the total cost of the service, which ranges between 76% and 96% for micro-enterprises, depending on the type of service, and between 52% and 91% in the case of SMEs.
The services are provided jointly and guided by the collaborating agent, who is at the disposal of the company at all times during the period of the improvement service, which can range from 3 to 6 months approximately. The services are designed from a practical nature, and they want the company to be professional in a certain strategic or operational area. For that to happen, the accompaniment in the help and the training that is given during the service is key.
One of the first steps of the service is to define tangible goals so the company knows what to expect with its implementation from the very beginning.
The services offered include the development of action plans and transversal plans, the improvement of financial management and the search for financing, the definition of a company's digital strategy, the implementation of cybersecurity strategies, the design of a content marketing strategy and advice on financing innovation, among others.
Since the launch of this programme in 2012, 2,695 services were offered with an executed budget of 13.7 million euros. The total number of companies that joined was 1,946.
The programme is currently developing the services of the latest calls and new calls are expected to be opened during the next year.
