The Xunta de Galicia launches these supports with the intention of modernizing the sector and making it more competitive, promoting the offer of quality products and unique designs that improve the shopping experience. Digitalization is another key tool to strengthen the recognition of Galician retail establishments and their positioning in the market, a priority objective of the call.

Trade and crafts must adapt to a reality that has changed substantially in recent years, as well as respond to the new buying habits of consumers. To this end, it is essential to introduce new technologies aimed at digitally transforming their businesses progressively, and that is precisely the purpose of these grants.

What does the aid consist of?

The program has a budget of three million euros, an amount that may be increased depending on the number of applications submitted and the availability of credit. The call for proposals establishes two different modules and applicants will be eligible for one or the other depending on their degree of digitalization:

• Module I: basic digitization of the omnichannel commercial environment and startup commercial activity with online sales.
• Module II: improvement of digital marketing tools and digital systems and other commercial digitalization actions.

Who can apply?

The grants are aimed at artisan workshops that are registered in the General Register of Crafts of Galicia and retailers who meet the following requirements:

• That they develop their commercial activity and have registered office in Galicia.
• That they do not have the consideration of great commercial establishment.
• That they have the condition of SME.
• That they have a number of employees equal or inferior to 20.
• That they are registered in some of the headings of the IAE that are listed in Annexes II and III of the call, which can be consulted in this link.
• That they carry out the activity for which the subsidy is intended.
• That they develop the commercial activity in a commercial establishment with a surface of exhibition and sale equal or inferior to 300 square meters.

How to apply?

Applications may be sent until March 28 and must be submitted according to the standard form included as Annex IV of the call for applications. Applications must be submitted electronically, using the form available at the Xunta de Galicia's electronic headquarters.
