The Xunta de Galicia, through the Galician Innovation Agency, participates in three new European collaborative innovation projects funded by the European Commission, which will mobilize more than 1.1 million euros in the Community and will boost the digitization of Galician industry, especially SMEs, and increase the impact of the Galician Aerospace Pole in the productive network, as well as promote new lines of work and innovation projects in international collaboration.

The three projects involve the participation of entities from more than 30 European regions, such as regional administrations, technology centers and companies.

AI Redgio

AI Redgio (Regions and Digital Innovation Hubs alliance for AI-driven digital transformation of European Manufacturing SMEs) is part of Horizon Europe, the European funding framework program. On the Galician side, in addition to Axencia Galega de Innovación, the technology center Gradiant and the company Innolact (Castro de Rei, Lugo) are participating, mobilizing more than half a million euros in Galicia.

The aim of the project is to carry out demonstrations to test the advantages of artificial intelligence in manufacturing and processing companies. To this end, companies will be offered activities in line with the concept of didactic or learning factories in which real industrial problems and challenges are addressed.

In addition, AI Redgio will devote part of its funding to support SMEs in experimenting with artificial intelligence by organizing specific calls for cascade funding.

Best DIH

Best DIH is a program funded by Interreg Europe and focused on supporting the digitization of companies.

Specifically, it will promote collaboration and offer joint services between digital innovation hubs (DIH) in different regions, especially between those designated EDIH (European Digital Innovation Hub) by the European Commission.

In Galicia, with the participation of the Galician Innovation Agency, it will mobilize 388,000 euros, with which new initiatives of collaboration in digital innovation between the hubs and the companies of the participating regions will be favored.

MAE

Finally, MAE (Moving Towards Aerospace) is an initiative financed by the Interreg Europe program and will support the activity being developed by the Aerospace Pole of Galicia. With an investment in the Community of 188,600 euros, it will be used to design, together with other similar programs in other participating regions, new mechanisms and programs to maximize the impact of these initiatives on companies.

It will also favor the promotion of new lines of work and innovation projects in transnational collaboration that could be presented to the Horizon Europe calls recently presented by the European Commission for the period 2023-2024.
