"What really makes companies unique are its people"

The executive director of the firm, which celebrates four decades as a leading company in Galician fashion, has been included in the 'Top 100 Women Leaders in Spain' in the category of Senior Management.

With 40 years of experience, Roberto Verino is one of the leading brands in Spanish fashion. What challenges do you face as CEO of the company?

As in any company, every day is a challenge for our team and for myself, although Roberto Verino is a very solid company, proven in its 40 years of experience in the market, which has been able to adapt to different situations and come out stronger.

We are currently focused on deploying the innovation processes we are designing in the different areas of the company to improve information support to our teams and personalised attention to our customers.

Over the years, the fashion industry has changed significantly. How has Roberto Verino's proposal evolved in the market and what are the values that remain intact?

The brand values have been present in each garment for more than 40 years. At Roberto Verino, quality, functional design, local production and constant innovation are our four pillars. In our case, it is something that our founder has always kept very much at bay and something that the whole team keeps in mind in their day-to-day work, to integrate it into the value chain of our product and the relationship with our environment.

Faced with fast fashion, there are more and more people talking about the importance of responsible consumption, the importance of quality and durability of garments. Can sustainability and fashion can go hand in hand?

In our case, they have always gone hand in hand. Our garments endorse the brand values that we have defended since the creation of the company and that are so present today, such as the durability of the garments, responsible consumption and the concept of investing in garments instead of spending. Building our "emotional wardrobe", which is composed of quality garments that you can use for many years. Those garments with which you have experiences, that make you happy and, above all, that you are aware that you are buying clothes to last, to be by your side in important moments.

You are one of the Top 100 Women Leaders in Spain, in the Senior Management category. Are we on the right track?

Each company's roadmap is a living thing, because in the end companies are made up of what really makes them unique: people. I believe that being recognised in the Top 100 Women Leaders of Spain is an honour for me, because I am part of a very important group of people, many of them women who work every day to make their companies better. The visibility of the Top 100 helps put the spotlight on the female presence in this area.
