Towards the digital and sustainable transformation of Galician local commerce
The Xunta de Galicia has launched a program for the modernization of commerce called the Technological Fund. Endowed with 3.8 million euros (under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union-Next GenerationEU), these grants are intended to facilitate the digitization of self-employed, small and medium-sized commercial enterprises and merchant associations, as well as their energy efficiency, thus contributing to increase their level of competitiveness in the framework of the digital economy.
Support lines
The call includes two lines of aid: one aimed at the self-employed and small and medium-sized commercial enterprises; and the other aimed at merchant associations.
Funding will be provided for big data applications, among others, which are essential for market research and to know the interests of the clientele; installation of interactive testers; virtual assistants (chatbots); or virtual and augmented reality applications.
Support will also be provided for the installation of energy-efficient air conditioning systems and presence sensors for the automatic regulation of lighting.
As for merchant associations, they will be able to use the aid for the installation of digital mupis, wifi networks in commercial areas, eco-efficient processes for the correct separation of waste or projects to improve energy efficiency, among others.
The subsidies reach 90% of the subsidized investment. They will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis and will cover activities carried out from January 1 to September 29. The application period is open until June 30.
