The Regional Government of Galicia, through the Galician Innovation Agency, has announced the fourth edition of the Galicia Innovation and Design Awards to recognise the work of individuals and companies that make a significant contribution to the economic and social development of the Community in these two fields, both of which are fundamental tools for business competitiveness and sustainability.

There are six participation categories, divided into two sections. In the design section, the following prizes will be awarded:

• Emerging talent, with a prize of €15,000, for designers up to the age of 35 with a professional career of less than ten years.
• Professionals, with a prize of €15,000 for individuals or design studios with a track record of at least five years of recognised prestige in the sector.
• Companies, an honorary award for established companies that have been incorporating design into their business strategy for at least ten years.

The innovation category includes the following awards:

• Innovative path, with a prize of €15,000, for professionals and business leaders with at least ten years' experience in which innovation has been one of the relevant characteristics.
• Small and medium-sized companies, with a prize of €15,000, for SMEs with a proven record of innovation for at least five years.
• Large company, an honorary award for large companies with at least ten years of innovative activity.

Through this call, which is part of the Design for Innovation and Sustainability Programme 2024 - DIFERENZA, the Regional Government of Galicia aims to highlight the best practices that can serve as an example for the entire Galician business network, showing how innovation and design play an essential role in improving the competitiveness of companies and, ultimately, the quality of life of people.

Some of the companies that received awards in the last edition were Unvi Carroceros, Hifas da Terra, Alén Space or Ceamsa among others.

The deadline for submitting nominations is 2 October.
