Boosting wind energy from Pontevedra
Based in Pontevedra and founded in 2016, Coverwind Solutions is a company with an international scope that offers a varied set of services in every phase of projects for the wind industry. "The sector did not stop growing in recent years, and despite the growth, we learned that there were some uncovered plots by companies in the same field. For us, who were already part of the industry, it was essential to pay attention to those services that had been treated in a more residual way," the company explains. "Today, after six years, we continue with the same purpose with which we were born: to be able to offer a quality service, attending to all the needs of our clients, whatever the size of the project they entrust us with," they explain.
Coverwind carries out the integral management of wind projects, from the study of resources, assembly and maintenance to the coordination of technical services. "We think that what gives us most value as a company is the communication we maintain with the client, the activity reports we send them and the largest possible volume of information so that they can account for the work carried out," they explain.
In these years of activity, the group of companies to which Coverwind belongs, Cover Global, grew to have a presence in other countries and to offer other services related to different renewable energies. "The country where we have done the most work since the beginning of our activity is France, where we have our subsidiary Coverwind France. In addition to France, we also cover a large part of Europe, such as Italy and Sweden, especially in the last year. We also have other offices in Morocco and Brazil".
Galicia Avanza's boost
Coverwind Solutions is one of the companies participating in Galicia Avanza, the internationalization program for SMEs promoted by the Xunta de Galicia and Tecnópole. Its objective: to position itself in the French market. "France is one of the countries where we usually work the most. There, they are way ahead of us in terms of the advancement of the sector, which means that the industry is much more advanced. For this reason, they are starting to dismantle and repower old wind farms and Coverwind wanted to be there. We wanted to give visibility to the work we had done so far with projects in the same field that had allowed us to position ourselves as a reference in the market", they say.
Thanks to the program, they were able to plan and carry out a preliminary study of the terrain in order to know the most suitable path to follow: "We were able to learn more about the French market and how the public we want to reach behaves, which was and is very useful for us. Likewise, we also appreciated the possibility of expressing and writing down how we understand the work and the way to carry out any job," they say.
Looking to the future, "we would like not only to maintain our position, but also to continue growing, both in terms of employment and turnover. The renewables sector is booming, and we are trying to keep up with it," they explain. In fact, "Galicia has enormous potential for renewables. We have very favorable weather conditions for the energy transition: abundant wind and wind resources promise sustainable energy generation, while the potential of solar and other energies are also promising. Moreover, the development of renewable technologies and appropriate policies will be essential to harness this potential and move forward together towards a more sustainable future."
