Connecting the R&D ecosystem in Galicia
The Xunta de Galicia, through the Galician Innovation Agency, has just launched the Galician innovation ecosystem network, InnovaRede: the first access point to Galicia's R&D&I capacities with the aim of giving them visibility and fostering the connection between the agents of the Galician R&D&I ecosystem.
This new tool was created to strengthen this ecosystem and continue to grow by connecting the capacities of knowledge centres (technology, research or innovation centres, universities and other knowledge agents) with the needs of companies.
Its aim is to promote collaboration between the different agents of technological demand and supply in an agile, direct and open way, in order to accelerate the process of technological development, enhance the value of knowledge and help SMEs find the resources and capabilities they need to innovate.
InnovaRede was born with information on 35 R&D&I agents in Galicia and with the aspiration to continue growing. The platform gathers a synthesis of prioritised information on each of them: who they are, where they are, how to contact them and what they do. In total, the tool includes 750 patents, 3700 publications and 3500 projects, which represents the most useful knowledge for companies.
The portal has a search engine on the home page that allows searches of all the information collected and categorised in easy-to-understand technologies, value chains, keywords and Unesco codes, for each agent and R&D&I line.
In addition, it incorporates a private section where, by registering, you can formulate a technological demand for which no answer was found in the current InnovaRede descriptions, which will be answered by consulting the agents or the Administration.
Looking to the future, the idea is to turn InnovaRede into a space to facilitate the shared use of scientific infrastructures and equipment; to create the Galician patent bank and help find potential users or operators; and to be a showcase for opportunities to work in Galicia in the field of R&D&I.
