Xunta de Galicia earmarks €1.5m for innovative startups
The creation of new companies by innovative entrepreneurs is a key factor for economic revitalisation, job creation and the promotion of a culture of innovation. In this context, the first specific support programme for Galician start-ups promoted by the Xunta de Galicia is already underway. The call, endowed with €1.5 million, aims to support innovative entrepreneurial projects and help them overcome one of the most common obstacles encountered in the launch of their projects, such as financing the usual costs necessary for the implementation of the new activity or its consolidation.
Therefore, beneficiaries will obtain 100% of the expenses they justify for the start-up or consolidation of their start-ups, with a maximum of 20,000 euros per initiative. Eligible expenses or investments incurred by the startup from 1 January 2024 until the date of the application for aid.
The awarding will be by non-competitive concurrence, so the grants will be decided in order of registration of the application. The deadline for submitting applications will remain open until 30 September 2024 at 2 p.m., unless the available budget is exhausted before that date.
Galicia Startups Agenda
The Xunta de Galicia has launched the Galicia Startups Agenda 2022-2024, a package of measures totalling almost €15 million to promote the growth of technology-based companies and foster the creation of wealth and employment.
In addition, Galician startups also have at their disposal the so-called business factories, acceleration programmes for companies in different sectors, such as food (Business Factory Food), automotive (Business Factory Auto) or aeronautics (Business Factory Aero); as well as High Tech Auto, a high-tech incubator in the automotive sector that complements BFAuto itself; and other initiatives such as ViaGalicia.
