The deadline to apply for energy planning subsidies for local entities and energy communities is still open.
Who are the grants for?
Local entities and energy communities with residence or establishment in Galicia can benefit from these subsidies. The intensity of the aid varies according to the type of action and the number of municipalities involved, reaching up to 70% in the case of groups of more than six municipalities. The maximum aid per application can reach €15,000, with variations depending on the number of municipalities represented and the energy supplies contributed to the centralized contract.
Objectives and eligible actions
Eligible projects are classified according to the type of applicant, whether they are local entities such as municipalities or groups of these, or energy communities, already constituted or in the process of formation. For municipalities, actions such as the contracting of legal and/or technical services for the improvement of energy planning are contemplated, including the possibility of centralized energy supply contracting. Energy communities, for their part, can access subsidies for assistance in the definition of energy infrastructures and the preparation of economic feasibility studies, among others. As regards the execution period, expenses and investments made between January 1 and September 30, 2024 will be eligible for subsidies.
How to apply?
The submission of applications must be made exclusively by electronic means, through the Electronic Headquarters of the Xunta de Galicia and the website of the Energy Institute of Galicia (Inega). Interested parties must be in possession of an electronic ID or a valid digital certificate in order to submit the application and the required complementary documentation electronically.
In addition to the application itself, a series of documents must be submitted, including, among others, the Energy Planning technical report and the authorization for representation. It is essential to take into account the supporting documentation of the investments made.
