Founded in 1983 as a wholesaler of fresh fruit and vegetables in the area of Vigo, the company has been able to adapt to the continuous changes in the market in recent years, becoming more professional in distribution, experiencing continuous growth accompanied by constant evolution.
Frutas Nieves has a network of 41 franchised establishments, distributed in the province of Pontevedra, offering its customers a wide range of fresh products with the highest quality guarantees. In recent years it has been able to expand its business model reaching new customers in the private sector throughout Galicia, such as the Horeca channel, wholesalers and supermarkets, transferring its policy of quality and customer service to large companies.
Sustaining the company's competitiveness and achieving solid growth over several decades is a milestone. "We are celebrating our 40th anniversary and this is one of the reflections we have made, since it is not easy to stay 40 years in the fruit sector. Frutas Nieves has been a company in constant growth and very faithful to its values of quality, service and attention. In addition, in the last 10 years and extrapolating our own business model, we have grown in size. Although our greengrocers are positioned in Pontevedra, we have been taking over the distribution in the 4 Galician provinces on a daily basis thanks to an important logistic network. And all this while maintaining personalized advice," explains Víctor González Barreira, commercial director of Frutas Nieves.
With an annual turnover of around 23 million euros, the company has successfully diversified through its FreshCut division, focused on the production of processed and packaged health foods, marketed through its online store, among which its well-known line of purees stands out. "This line without any additives or flavor enhancers, in addition to promoting healthy habits, allows us to also reach the international market, since its shelf life is up to 6 months in cold storage", highlights González Barreira.
Located in the Valladares Logistics Technology Park in Vigo, Frutas Nieves has state-of-the-art facilities equipped with advanced technology for the preservation, processing and distribution of fresh produce in optimal conditions. But beyond its infrastructure, the real engine of the company is its human team, composed of more than 120 professionals committed to excellence and customer satisfaction.
One of Frutas Nieves' most outstanding initiatives is the Vitaminas Club, an educational project aimed at promoting healthy eating habits among young people. Through nutritional workshops held in educational centers, Club Vitaminas teaches children the importance of a balanced and varied diet.
