DAIRY PRODUCT PROCESSING
This catalogue refers to the procedure for the start-up of business initiatives corresponding to dairy product processing industries, with dairy products being understood as products manufactured as a result of the processing of raw milk or the subsequent processing of such processed products.
It also includes the procedure for the authorisation of craft food companies, the requirements of which are set out in the applicable technical standards (to be published).
There are two different procedures depending on the characteristics of the companies.
On the one hand, there are companies that carry out production, processing, preparation and/or packaging, storage and/or distribution and/or transport activities, as well as importing products from countries outside the European Union, which must apply for administrative authorisation; on the other hand, the remaining companies, which must simply notify the start of their activity.
Once these procedures have been completed, the activity may be carried out, which does not exempt from compliance with other matters related to the regulatory and sectoral reference framework.
Royal Decree 191/2011, of 18 February, on the General Health Register of Food Companies and Foodstuffs.
Decree 174/2019, of 19 December, which regulates food craftsmanship.
Decree 204/2012, of 4 October, creating the Galician Health Register of Food Companies and Establishments.
