HOTEL ESTABLISHMENTS
The activity of tourist accommodation companies in the form of hotel establishments is the object of this catalog.
Hotel establishments are tourist accommodations located in one or several nearby buildings, or in part of these, specifically those classified in group I (hotels).
Excluded from this catalog:
Housing activities that have institutional, social, welfare, labor, educational purposes or that are carried out within the framework of government programs aimed at children and youth, senior citizens, women or groups in need or social exclusion or victims of gender violence, in particular:
- Publicly owned pilgrims' hostels, which shall be governed by their specific regulations.
- The youth hostels integrated in the network of youth hostels, which will be governed by their specific regulations.
- Establishments dedicated to lodging in collective rooms for school, educational or social purposes, such as temporary areas dedicated to cultural, sporting or recreational events, which will be governed by their specific rules.
BEFORE STARTING THE PROCEDURES...
Before initiating the procedures, it is advisable that the promoter request a prior report from the provincial area of the Galician Tourism Agency where the establishment will be located to verify compliance with the minimum requirements.
In order to initiate a start-up activity of a hotel establishment, it is necessary to present a responsible declaration, on the part of the promoter, in which it is stated the fulfillment of the requirements foreseen in the tourist regulation for the intended classification and the commitment to maintain them during the time of validity of the activity. This declaration enables the start of the activity from the day of its presentation and implies the registration of the establishment in the Registry of Companies and Tourist Activities of the Autonomous Community of Galicia.
Subsequently, the administration will carry out the necessary controls and inspection related to the veracity of the declared data and will issue the corresponding resolution.
